Diamond Open Access
Diamond Open Access (also Gold Open Access without APC) is a term for journals that do not charge researchers for access to articles or for the publication of articles. The publication of articles is therefore not associated with costs for researchers at Clausthal University of Technology.

KOALA – A German acronym translating to “Establishing Consortial Open Access Solutions” – established consortial solutions for financing open access. Collaborative funding of OA journals and book series by academic libraries, research institutions, associations, and companies provides an alternative to the dominant APC model, where articles are paid for individually by authors or their institutions.

Open Library Economics (OLEcon) supports academic journals that want to convert their business model to Diamond Open Access in the long term.
This consortium is supported by the ZBW (Leibniz Information Center for Economics). The ZBW supports the funded journals in setting up sustainable alternative financing and offers advice on the entire conversion process.
